Every ship has a crew-bar, where you could have a drink or smoke a cigarette .

The end of the contract

Your contract will last between 4-6 months, usually not longer.
Before the end of the contract you will be asked if you would like to come back to have a further contract. Think about, because life will be much easier with further contracts and the salary will be better with each contract.
Do not forget to ask for references before you travel home. Your ticket to travel home will be paid by your employer.
